Repair cost compensation service

The Toy Wide Repair Cost Compensation Service, also called the “Toy Wide Friends Club,” is a membership program managed by the Toy Wide Friends Club Administration Office, designed to help customers manage the cost of repairs for eligible products that experience functional issues during normal use. By enrolling in this program, members gain access to repair coverage for a set period, providing reassurance and financial protection for a variety of family-oriented items. This service is intended to offer long-term value and peace of mind, particularly for products that are frequently used or have higher repair costs.

Coverage under the program extends to multiple categories of products commonly used by children and families. Game consoles are a primary category, with repair protection based on the original purchase price. For items within designated price ranges, the program offers three years of coverage, and membership fees vary according to the retail cost, allowing customers to select a level of protection that aligns with the value of their purchase.

Electronic toys are also included, encompassing items like children’s computers, kid-friendly tablets, LCD educational toys, and other electronic learning devices. Given that these products are often used heavily, repair coverage is particularly beneficial. Similar to game consoles, coverage lasts three years, and fees are tiered based on purchase price to provide predictable costs.

The service also includes a wide range of baby products, such as strollers, car seats, high-low chairs, bouncers, walkers, jumpers, play yards, baby beds, electric breast pumps, nasal aspirators, mobiles, baby gyms, baby monitors, and alarms. Because these items are essential to daily childcare and often involve mechanical or electronic components, repair coverage offers parents additional security. Baby products are protected for three years, with membership fees scaled according to their retail price.

Outdoor mobility items, including bicycles, tricycles, training bikes, skateboards, kick scooters, foot-powered ride-on toys, and unicycles, are covered in a separate category. These products have distinct pricing tiers and membership fees to reflect differences in construction, usage, and repair costs.

Large play equipment is another eligible category, covering jungle gyms, swings, slides, horizontal bars, ball houses, ball pools, trampolines, and battery-powered ride-on toys. These items are often used repeatedly over time, making repair coverage valuable for families.

Traditional decorative dolls, such as hina dolls and May dolls, receive extended coverage of five years due to their cultural significance and higher purchase prices. Membership fees for these premium items are proportionate to their retail value, ensuring appropriate protection.

Enrollment in the Toy Wide Friends Club depends on the point of purchase. Online orders require review of the delivery statement included with the shipment, with enrollment completed within 30 days of the order date for personal-use items. Membership fees are payable by credit card, and damages occurring prior to payment are not eligible for compensation. A copy of the delivery statement or invoice is required to submit a repair claim.

Customers who purchase items at physical Toys“R”Us or Babies“R”Us stores can join at the time of purchase by notifying staff. Membership fees are paid in-store, and coverage is limited to personal-use purchases. Repair claims require the original receipt, and damages occurring before enrollment are excluded.

Support is available through the Toy Wide Friends Club desk via phone during weekdays and Saturdays, excluding Sundays and public holidays. Assistance includes guidance on eligibility, enrollment, and coverage details, helping members make the most of the repair cost compensation service.
